Watchable Wildlife Ponds

The project develops Watchable Wildlife Ponds—these are wetlands equipped with interpretive signs and viewing areas where local people, school groups, and tourists can easily observe whistling-ducks and other wildlife. Boardwalks, viewing platforms and interpretive signs have been installed on 10 major wetlands in the Cayman Islands which are now protected and utilized as resources for education and nature tourism.

Working with local partners, we are developing Watchable Wildlife Ponds in the Dominican Republic (Parque Nacional Mirador del Norte in Santo Domingo), New Providence, Bahamas (Harrold and Wilson Pond National Park), and Jamaica (Negril Royal Palm Reserve).
